Hostgator.com

Hostgator.com is a newer web host and comes highly recommended (I am a customer myself), so if you are looking for a Hostgator review, a Hostgator rebate, or even a promo, you will find them in abundance, mostly because people are happy with the service the company provides.  The general consensus is customers feel like Hostgator.com is a great place to get your feet wet if you are new to the world of web hosting.  Hostgator.com provides an inexpensive and a no-worries way to get your message out on the internet.

Hostgator.com has been around since 2002 and is based in Boca Raton, on the east coast of Florida.  There are 130 employees that perform technical and customer support services for about 700,000 domains.  Their low monthly fee and no set-up fee hosting philosophy stems from the fact that they are confident that once people try them, they won’t leave.  Hostgator.com is very upfront about the fact that they have carved a niche for themselves that separates them from other web hosters.  If you have a real problem, you can even assign your ticket to be answered by the owner of the company himself.  You look around the internet, but there really isn’t a Hostgator review that you can find that is negative.  Many people wonder how this company can provide such excellent customer support along with almost no down time, especially for the budget prices they charge.

Hostgator.com offers Linux hosting plans, which are comically named Hatchling, Baby, and Swamp.  The features vary depending on what your hosting needs are.  The Hatchling plan starts at about $5 a month and the prices go up slightly from there, and mainly differ with regards as to how much disk space, bandwidth and number of domains you are looking for.  Basic plans have a set monthly fee and Hostgator will even let you go month to month.  Your domain name is free and the initial set up is free as well.  Along with unlimited FTP and POP3 accounts, addon/parked domains, sub domains, and MySQL databases, you kind of have to wonder how they are able to do this for such a low price.

Hostgator.com is probably the most user-friendly services in the top ten hosting providers on the internet. A lot of companies provide resource libraries, but they can be hard to use for “Hatchling” webmasters.  Hostgator not only provides demos so that users know what they are purchasing at the time of sign-up, but they also have visual demonstrations in the form of flash movies that are specifically helpful for someone who is pulling together their first website.  They also use cPanel for their control panel, which is the icon based control panel that anyone can use.

With the click of mouse anyone can access their email, webmail, parked domains, FTP manager, file manager, disk space usage, backups, passwords, FrontPage, error pages, subdomains, MySQL databases, redirects, extensions, FTP stats, error log, subdomain stats, the chat room, PHP my chat, the bulletin board, CGI center, scripts library, Agora shopping cart, cron jobs manager, network tools, MIME types, Apache handlers, IP deny manager, statistics software configuration, the web host manager, Fantastico Deluxe and most any other feature that has to do with managing the site.

Plans also include a site builder, instant backups, PHP 4 & 5, Ruby on Rails, SSH, Perl, Chilisoft ASP, Python, SSI,  Curl, GD, Image Magik, free module installation,  e-mail alias, catch alls, Spam Assasin, mailing lists, IMAP support, SMTP, mail forwarding, Soholaunch, hotlink protection, instant blogs, instant portals, Zen cart, Cube cart, redirect URL, and a lot more.

With all of the features and customer support, anyone who is new to the internet can get the most out of their site, even if they are totally new to web hosting.  Price is not an issue either.  You can find a Hostgator rebate or promo almost any where, so it just makes sense to dive in to the swamp and let Hostgator.com do the rest.
