Cheap Dedicated Hosting – Deadicated Hosting

Review list of dedicated and semi-dedicated web hosting plans available, whether your looking for a linux hosting box, a windows deadicated server, a managed dedicated server or an entery level shared server their are plenty of options.

Best Dedicated Hosting Options:

When you decide to get a dedicated hosting service, you actually lease an entire server that you don’t have to share with anyone else.  This type of hosting is more for organizations who want to have full control over the operating system and other hardware.  Server administration from the hosting company can be added for an extra fee.  However, when you rely on help from the hosting company, remember that no industry standards have been set to clearly define the management role of dedicated server providers.  So while while most hosting companies automatically provide features like technical service, application updates, and security audits for dedicated hosting customers, they define their level of commitment to the project based on how many different services they provide to that client.  This is where customers get frustrated.

It has been also been my experience that because there is more room for error on the part of the customer when it comes to dedicated hosting, unexplainable glitches tend to sneak into the system, especially when it comes to the installation of third party scripts and software by the customer.  Of course, if an organization is going to go with a dedicated hosting package, they are going to install and configure their own scripts and software at some point.  When it doesn’t work, the blame starts to fly and the work order ticket system seems to break down.  Then, the pricing ad-ons rear their ugly head, so much so that with some dedicated hosting companies, the customer would rather pay out the full contract and just walk away.

However, believe it or not the biggest complaints that people who subscribe to a dedicated hosting package revolve around the emails.  The biggest complaints are when the mail server goes down, lost emails, delayed emails, web forms from the hosting company that don’t arrive, and outgoing emails blocked by ISP’s because of too much spam from other customers.  Most move the email function of their domains to Google Apps, but still aren’t happy.  This seems to be the one problem that tech support who work with dedicated hosting can’t seem to keep running consistently.  One thing to look for when signing up with dedicated hosting is to find out how many dedicated IP addresses you have.  There isn’t any way to predict how the hosting company will handle your emails in the future, but more dedicated IP addresses will give you more options if the worst does happen in the future.

After doing some research, I didn’t find a single company who didn’t have some kind of problems with their emails, but after listening to some more intellegent web masters, I came up with a list of those I can recommend.  Ixwebhosting e-mail goes down rarely, but this seems to be their only problem with regards to email.  Lunarpages.com, (a little more expensive) got no bad reviews when it came to losing or slowing down e-mails.  Godaddy.com scored high as well.  So, if you don’t want your dedicated hosting to turn into “deadicated hosting,” do yourself a favor and check out these guys before you sign a contract with somoene else.
